Play Soccer in Europe

NCAA Athlete Pathways to Professional Soccer

Whether you’re a post-NCAA athlete ready to go pro, or a top ECNL / MLS Next player at a crossroads, there’s a professional European pathway for you.

Why Europe?

Europe is the global epicenter of football. For serious athletes, it offers unmatched development, competition, and career opportunities that simply don’t exist at home.

🏆 Elite Competition

Train against professional players in top leagues, accelerating your development far beyond domestic options.

🎓 Professional Environment

Daily sessions with UEFA-licensed coaches, video analysis, performance psychology, and full club infrastructure.

🚀 Career Doors

European experience opens doors to professional contracts, enhanced recruiting profiles, and ongoing club opportunities.

Who This Is For

We work with two distinct types of athletes, each with their own pathway to Europe.

Post-NCAA Athletes Going Pro

You’ve exhausted your college eligibility and are serious about playing professionally. Europe offers real contracts, and Dub Sports’ agent network gives you direct access through Ambra’s established relationships in Italy and the Netherlands.

Bubble Players — ECNL & MLS Next

You’re a top 18U player with talent that outpaces your offers. Before accepting NAIA, JUCO, or a weak D1 spot, consider a professional development year in Italy at a real women’s club. Come back with European experience, a certificate, and a completely different recruiting profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this affect my NCAA eligibility?

If your athlete has not yet enrolled in college, a gap year does not affect NCAA eligibility, which is a key advantage for 18U players. They can complete the program and still play D1 afterward. For post-NCAA athletes, eligibility is already exhausted so there is no impact.

Is this a better option than JUCO or NAIA?

For the right player, yes. A top ECNL or MLS Next athlete with underwhelming offers will develop far more in 9 months of professional Italian club training than most NAIA programs offer. They return with European club experience, a certificate, and a dramatically improved recruiting profile.

What are the requirements to apply?

Athletes must be 18+ with a solid football background and valid passport. Requirements vary by pathway. We assess each athlete individually during the initial consultation.

How long does placement take?

The Napoli Gap Year runs September–May (9 months). Other European placements typically occur within 3–6 months after the initial consultation.

What happens after the program?

Standout participants may be offered placement with Napoli Women or affiliated clubs. All participants receive a certificate and build a professional European network. Many return to the US with stronger college recruitment options or continue pursuing professional opportunities in Europe.
